Automatic Shift Question

Is there anyway to adjust the kickdown on an 2006 3.0 with automatic ? I have to feather the pedal to keep it from downshifting to many gears, for ex., when entering the freeway. I get high rpm's and not much mph if I don't pay close attention to just how far I push it.

Thanks

the newer auto transmissions dont have the manual adjust kickdown, they are all electronically controlled. the only way i know of to adjust the trans shift points is with a programmer.

I'm going to bring my old thread back up.

So how would you reprogram this kickdown ? If it would only down shift one gear it would be fine, when it decides to shift down another it just shoots up the rpms and you loose any pickup in speed you might have had merging with 70 mph traffic.

Sounds like something a custom tuner would have to do.
