New bearing races

I'm getting ready to change my front rotors, brakes. On my RWD Ranger the rotor is a complete hub unit so I will be installing new bearings as well.

I am assuming the hub will come with at least the inner race already installed so my question is, should I remove that race and use the ones that come with the bearings? A race is a race right, or are they matched to the bearings.

I will be using a Raybestos 66597R hub assembly and Timken bearings if that matters.

I am not sure of just how the Ranger 2WD hubs come but usually the disc is separate for the hub. Of you are getting new bearings I would replace all of the races with new one that cow with the bearings.

If your Ranger had the hub packs, get the packs with the Timken Bearing.

Latter-day Rangers do, in fact, have the combined rotor/hub assembly with the races pre-installed. From what I've read, the general notion seems to be that since you have new racers, put new bearings in with them. There's a DIY video on this very issue where they replaced the rotor and both the inner and outer bearings, but retained the racers that were installed into the new rotors. That's what I plan to do.
