Avm Manual Hub Install Help!!!

Well I Installed 1 Of My Avm Locking Hubs On My 98 Ranger Without A Glitch! Took 15 Minutes. When I Got To The Other Wheel, The Old Hub Was Froze Up With Rust And Dirt. I Tried To Pry It Loose And All That Happened Is The Whole Plasic Shell That Sticks Out Broke Off Flush Leaving All The Gears And Guts Intact Around The Spine. Now How Do I Get The Rest Of The Old Hub Out? Thanks

take a rubber mallet to it and tap it. tapping it will loosen up some of the rust and dirt. vise grips maybe and pull it out? use some sort of prying device. improvise alittle with the tools u have.

re

There is nothing to grab hold of. Its flush with the spline. The only possible solution I can think of is to drill a tiny hole in the hub gears and maybe get a aluminum screw started and use that to pull the rest of the hub guts out. maybe that will work. Its really caked up in there. Rust on the spline and on the hub guts. Its just froze up in there. when I pulled on the old hub, that whole black plastic part just broke off leaving the hub gears ect intact, flush with the spline.

Tellico4x4 is who sells AVM hubs.

As for what's happening, I'm don't understand what happened so I would say take a picture if you can. Might help clear up my screwed up head.
