Axle Code Question

Ok, I'm looking for an axle to use for my 94 Ranger 5.0 build. I came accross a truck locally being parted out, an 03 FX4. The axle code is...
V333K
L10882H30

Can somebody help direct me to where I can find what this info means? I believe it is an 8.8. I'm guessing from a little reading that this is likely an 8.8 with 31 spline axles. Anybody know what gear ratio it is? Thanks for any help!!!

All 2002 FX4's were 4.10, 8.8", 31-spline with Torsen limited slip.

Be very careful of any 2002 Torsen-equipped Ranger axle because there was a safety recall due to the Torsen diffs fragging. Replaced axles have a special tag on them, purple IIRC. Those warrantied axles should be OK and Torsens in FX4s assembled after January 28, 2002 should be OK as well.

Here's the problem: Since the early failures were reported on manual FX4s, Ford warrantied the axle assemblies on the manual trucks ONLY, choosing to NOT recall the same Torsen diffs in the early 2002 automatic FX4s. Predictably, IMO, the suspect diffs in the automatic trucks have also been known to fail over time. Obviously, any of these early Torsen diffs are to be avoided, especially for a V8 swap.

ALL FX4s, manual or automatic, assembled after January 2002 came with the good updated diffs. If you have access to the axle donor, you can look at the build date on the door jamb. If you know the VIN of a manual donor, a Ford dealer can tell you if the axle was ever replaced under the recall.

Safety recall #02S32

Yep, sorry. My edit was from 02 to 03, apparently I didn't get it in before the replies started coming. Thanks for the replies. The donor truck is in fact an 03. I have yet to determine if it is Level II or not. I do know that it is manual tranny with electronic transfer case.

All 2003 LII with manual trans also had a manual transfer case. If your donor has an electronic case with a manual trans, then it is not a LII.

In the case of a non-Level II FX4 with E-case, the rear axle is 4.10, 8.8", 28 spline with a Ford/Visteon "Traction-Lok" limited slip diff. It's a good axle but obviously not as strong as the 31-spline. Plan on rebuilding the Traction-Lok if it isn't a low miles piece.
