These are OEM, and are straight. I just need to get a measurement from them to confirm they are Ranger shafts as I had some Aerostar shafts from a axle break in Centralia a LONG time ago.
As for cost, I'd be happy if I got 30 bucks, might even give you the other shafts as we now have a 31 spline......or trade for stuff.

It is possible to wear the shaft down, replace if the wear shows any grooves or any other wear where the shaft rides on the bearing.. if you fail to replace a worn axle shaft after doing bearing/seal replacement.. it'll eat though the bearing and wear the shaft even more. I'm in the process of replacing my driver's side, I let the bearing go for too long and now it's just... bad. I'm going to be getting my new axle shaft from Napa, as money is tight.. they are available, I don't know why you guys are having issues with it being a "dealer only" part.

no clue.....go to napa or checker/schucks/kragen/oreily or autozone. I may have a carquest part number somewhere.

I should get the bearing to then, I went to Napa and all they could find is a 2wd rear end seal, would that be the same?

I was told to order a 7.5 seal because that is on the computers as a 28spl and the 8.8 rear ends are on the computers as 31spl.

I know the rear ends arent the same but I guess when you order the seal for an 8.8 28spl. you need to get a 7.5 rear seal. I found this out when a buddy of mine ****ed up the rearend in his 02.

If somebody has the Napa/Ford part number that would be great. Or if they know if a 2wd rearend seal will work?

7.5 and 8.8 outer seals, bearings, and shafts are the same. Difference lies in the center section and guts of center section.

That's how I ordered parts for the old Ranger, using 7.5 numbers. Got burnt too many times by the parts monkies at stores who gave me the 31 spline stuff.

2WD numbers should work.

Well, I should have been more specific in saying the 28 spline 8.8 is the same as the 7.5 from the tubes out (brakes excluded).

31 spline is obviously a different story.

The only thing that matters is axle type not 2wd or 4wd.

Yes. The only seal that will not work on your axle is the LII/"original" FX4 axle seals/bearing.

Still want that gas tank skid?
