Can you put a full spool in a Limited Slip Rearend or do you have to start with an open?

A full spool is a carrier replacement, but you might be able to find a mini spool. I'm not sure if they make the for L/S carriers or not. Check sumiit racing.

Full spool will fit, also a there are lockers. that will replace everything.

The mini spool and lunch box lockers in mot sure about either.

If you have to pull the carrier out you will need to reset up the gears. You might as well put new bearings in everything while your at it.

as said above a FULL spool replaces everything, a mini spool depends on which LS you have. I think you can put a mini spool in a stock ford t-lok, but if you have the torson found in the FX4L2's no you need a complete replacement. I would NOT put a spool in something that was going to see any pavement.

Thanks Guys good info , my 8.8 28 spline finally crapped out so I am replacing it with an 8.8 31 spline from an explorer but will need to re-gear it to match my 4.10, and when done with my sas I will put a bigger axle in, I needed to lock the rear end I just didnt wanted to spend alot of money when I will replace it again in a few months.

Put in an open carrier and install a mini-spool or an aussie locker. Or shoot....Lincoln Lock the thing.
