Actually I may have been wrong. I know the Mustang has a different tranny but according to TRS the 91 and up 3.0 and the 91 to 2000 4.0 OHV used the same trannys. I'm not sure now. Curse me for trying to help without being sure.

Mazda M50D-R1:
1988 & Up 4-Cylinder Rangers
1988-1992 2.9L 2WD Rangers
1991-2000 4.0L Ranger
1991 - Up 3.0L Ranger

I would just look at Centerforce or Specc for a upgraded clutch.

Difference was the bellhousings. Needed a tranny for my 3.0 and my buddy had a 4.0 tranny but wouldn't bolt up.

Well I knew that but the input shaft splines might be different.
