2x4 Tranny Into 4x4?

Well my tranny is slipping a little.I have a Rebuilt 2x4 tranny in my explorer that i spent almost 2g's to rebuild awhile back b4 the head gasket blew.
I dont use my 4x4 often..maybe once a year.Can i put a 2x4 tranny in my 4x4 (obviously not using 4x4)

Different driveshafts and you'll have to swap in a 4x4 output shaft if you want to retain 4x4.

Yes but you might also need the 4wd(longer) output shaft.

the 4wd output shaft is shorter then a 2wd, and you need the housing as well

but this does require pulling apart the entire transmisson to get to
