Welded the 9" up SOLID!!

not THE 9" in the truck.. but the spare one i had in the garage.

well i looked around a bit.. didn't really find much on the 9" being welded, PBB has way too much information for someone who sucks and key works in searching

anywho.. I started off by putting in a little 1 5/8" square piece of 12ga plate to keep the spatter from going down on the splines of the "bottom" side gear, then tacked the spiders to the bottom gear, then to the housing..

Then using 6010 rods i welded the spiders to the bottom side gear. and welded the side gear to the housing, then started to fill up the bottom corners with weld.. slowlyyyyyy

then when it got close to the pins, i put the pins in.

**skip forward like 3 hours and a few dozen 6010 rods**

Then cleaned it up real pretty with the wire wheel.. and welded on the top side gear. I'm not done yet, i'm going to weld the rest of it up, just ran out of time.. And yes, i know i didn't have to weld the side gear on.. but why not

Lets just say, if it breaks.. its gonna be cool Now all i need to do is finish welding it, file the stubborn splatter off then setup the used 5.13s i have.

hopefully i'll bring it home tuesday. I didn't dare quench it and it was still WAY too hot to put in the plastic container in the back of my moms car haha

I'll weigh it and weigh my buddies before i weld it too.
