Problem shifting?

Was driving about a week or 2 ago and came to a stop and the truck did not want to go into any gear. Turned it off and restarted it and it slipped into to gear. Parked it and all of a sudden it stalled (like I let the clutch out too fast). Came back an hour later and started it and it stalled the same way. Put it in neutral, started it, forced it into gear, and it drove fine. It did seem harder to get into gear. I have been taking short trips with it for a week and had no problems. Anybody have an ideas what the problem is? Should I worry about it? Want to go fishing this week but don't want to get stuck in the middle of no where. It is a 99 2.4L with over 100,000 miles.

Thanks,
Vincent

Sounds like the slave is going out, or the clutch is toast...

What is a slave? It is probably the clutch because it has been making sounds like it is slipping when I shift it higher then I should and also about a month ago the clutch pedal started to feel different.

sounds like its time to replace the clutch, pressure plate and slave then.
if you do it yourself, make sure you get the flywheel machined and get a shim for it.
