Brake sensor noise?

Sometimes when I hit the brakes hard I hear a buzzing type sound from either the pedal itself or dash area (not sure). When my Escape made this noise it had to do with the ABS sensor being faulty. However, my Ranger does not have ABS as I can easily lock up the brakes. Why would it make this noise if I don't have ABS?

But wouldn't ABS not allow me to lock up the brakes? There are no lights on the dash either indicating there is a problem.

If the system is not working properly the brakes will still lock up. I would take it and get the truck checked out at a dealer to make sure its working right just to be safe.
