Alright more problems...

So the universals in my truck are replaced, and that problem is fixed.

I then brought the truck to a local shop that I have worked with before, since I just wanted it checked over.

I was told that the rear brakes are shot (54k miles never changed so I believe it). Also the rear right axel seal needs to be replaced. How hard is the axel seal, I cannot afford 70 bucks an hour at a shop anymore. I'm going poor really quickly.

the axle seal isnt terrible to do. it does require you to remove the diff cover and pull the axle shaft out. its really not a big deal but it could seem intimidating if youve never done it. if you do the seal, i suggest you replace the other one too while you have it apart. now is also a good time to do the rear brakes too.

Yeah the rear brakes are shot.
Im just wondering if the relief tube on the differental is clogged up, maybe thats why these seals are leaking.... or maybe i just need a new truck haha.

Any good explainations on how to do this or where even the axel seal is? I dont want to just start tareing into my differental not knowing what im doing...

do a search on here and see if there are any right ups or threads on seal replacement, im sure there is somewhere. if you cant find any ill describe it to you the best i can. it wouldnt be a bad idea to check the breather tube for the axle, if its plugged it could make the seals leak. and i dont think you need a new truck, it just needs a little TLC that it may have been lacking in the past. lol theyre like a woman, cant just ride em and put them away wet and expect them to always perform for you, they need maintinence, some more than others lol

anywho, 54k might be time for front brakes, but the rear brakes shouldn't be gone yet.

haha I go to college for technology education.... haha I've worked on fun stuff like building hot rods, and re building chevy engines. I've learned one thing... you can fix old cars, but you can't fix new ones it seems.

Haha... the thing with teh college night life hook up is the itchy feeling you get the next day... that comes back every 6 weeks... especially when you are stressed out.... oh wait... herpes? haha just kidding :)

You know.. I think I am going to check this mysterious vent tube out.. maybe thats whats with all my problems.

My front brakes went at 34k miles. the next set went at 48k ... ford told me to my face... sometimes their motorcraft parts are made poor... sooo... now I just buy other brands... motorcraft apparently is inferior.

Where is this vent hose thing located? I wonder if this is why my seals are leaking... or maybe I've just beated my truck up driving on highways with all the potholes...
