can anyone show me how to extend hoses?
how can i extend the hoses on the rear axle and tranny? i know i'll be needing this to help out with going thru water and etc, but has anyone done a how to with pics or etc? thanks!!!
and is this all that i will need to do to go thru water? any other damage occur even after (keep in mind, i'll be cautious[sp?]) ?
also, how long will the tubes need to be? etc... |
look on n3elz's cardomain page...
I swore I saw a quality writeup somewhere, but don't know where.. Carl (Buckgnarly) has a few snapshots on his cardomain site. At least that's what I think he's trying to show. No explinations though..
I'm quite cavalier about going through water/mud.. and I'll probably pay for it someday too. Basically keep it out of the massivly deep stuff. Water above the intake is obviously bad. One time I was rather worried when I had a good bow-wake off the hood of the truck! Also got the block wet as I had some steam coming from under the hood.. That probably wasn't bright. Don't do that! |

What part is this? I know nothing about it.. What good is a drain plug anyhow?
If you get water in your differential you can drain and refill the fluid without having to remove the cover and replace the gasket each time.
So what part is this exactly? Who makes it, where do you get it, how much does it set you back? ...
I originally got it to strengthen the rear axle since my first one blew up at 1200 miles. But it also has the drain and fill ports on it that are easier to use than the regular way. Ford sells it, it is part of the motorsport catalog. You buy it anywhere that sells ford parts, it's about $150.

Colin,
http://www.kennebell.net/accessories.../AxleCover.htm or just search for 8.8 Rear differential cover. |
$130? Nah, I'll pass thanks!
haha about $10 for extended hoses....or $130....hmmmmmmmmm
To extend the hose first you have to find some hot gir...... o wait nevermind :)
Yet again, N3ELZ has this done - He has a short write up saying what kind of hose you need, but not much else into it, as its self explainitory:
Pretty much at the bottom of the page, up about 2-4 pictures from it. http://www.cardomain.com/id/n3elz |
Doh! Yup, there it is. How the heck did I miss that?!
Because you were too busy making fun of my fluffy mods -- [sniff] I LIKE my fluffy mods!!! [begins to suck thumb]... :p
Yeah I was.. And I spent $20 at the craft store the other day trying to play catchup! ;)
