Changing Transmission Fluid

I've got a 2006 Ranger Sport with 104000 miles on it. I've only had the truck for about three weeks. I don't know if the transmission fluid/filter have ever been changed. Should I change them or not? What's your thoughts? I pulled the dip stick and it's still red, almost looked new.

if you checked it and it looks red/clean, your probably ok. I myself would probably change it just because you dont know for sure about the filter, and that way you will know the exact time to change it out again later. Make sure you have a giant bucket for when you drain it, i hear auto trannys have a TON of fluid. My manual tranny only takes like 2.5 or 3 quarts!

They have a lot of the fluid stuck in the converter. If you change the fluid and filter there's still a ton in the converter. I recommend getting a Flush at you local Ford dealer. My work charges 45.99 for this service

Yea, if your gonna do it, i'd recommend getting it flushed, save yourself the hassle of draining all the fluid, because there is a TON.
