Clutch Pedal is Hitting Housing

Hey everyone,

Here's my issue with my 2002 Ranger:
My clutch pedal has started hitting the housing when it is depressed (I can only depress the clutch halfway before it hits).
If I press the clutch with my foot on the left side of the pedal it will work, but if I press straight down it hits.
I want to give this truck to my son to learn to drive a manual with. As it is now,it is a poor setup to learn on.
Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

First guess is the bushings in the pedal assembly are shot.

Second guess is the pedal assembly is broke

I agree, at minimum the bushings are gone. But I would be willing to bet its broken in some capacity "up top"
