converting my 98 ranger

im wanting to put a 302 in my ranger and had a few questions. Can i use my same axel or do i have to get a different one? Can i use my same rear end and just re gear it or get something different? And if i can re gear it what gears should i put in it?

MudSlanger's Explorer 5.0 Swap In A 2000 Ford Ranger you can use the same one but unless you have a 31 spline axle i would get one from an expo and throw that one in there.
