cost and difficulty of LS Diff install?

2WD 2.5 5spd, I think its a 7.7 rear, whats the cost for a LS unit, and install?

I've done engine swaps before, but dont know squat about rears really.

I dont need anything like a locker or something special, a factory unit I assume will do fine.

thanks for any help!

You can do it yourself, but it is needs to be set up correctly with shims and such and so I just got someone to do it who knew how. Cost $215 labor/gaskets/oil and did a great job.

I think yours will be a 7.5 like mine. Its the same price to install for a clutch operated Ford LS or a clutchless Truetrac LS so may as well put in the Truetrac. Happy with mine.

It's not that hard to do as long as you can measure & adjust the backlash accurately. (dial indicator and proper shims)

IF you are installing the same gears, just make sure that you use the EXACT same shims that came out of each side and you will be fine.......

for instance, remove the driver side shims and place them on a clean rag on that side, do the same for the passanger side. Then install the l/s using the shims for each side....
