Cracked Exhaust Manifold

My daughter's 1989 Ranger with the 4-banger apparently has a cracked exhaust manifold. This was confirmed by a local mechanic. How hard is it for my daughter and me to replace it?

Not too bad - might be very hard to get the nuts bolts/studs out of the block and can snap like twigs...Then it becomes a pain

Thanks, guys. May be a moot point. The daughter and I crawled all over the damn thing and found no indication of a problem with the manifold, in fact the leak sounded like it comes from elsewhere. The intermediate pipe, from the cat to the muffler, however is in poor shape and has a nice big hole or two in it. We're replacing it and other components that look iffy, and see what that does for us. Then we'll recheck the manifold. I just wanna ensure safety for the kid. Not sure where the mechanic got the idea the manifold is bad. He's usually really dependable. :irked:
