cv axle retainer ring
 

HI I'm replacing my CV axle tomorrow and my repair manual says i need to replace the cv axle retainer ring.. the only problem is I just spent almost an hour on the phone to ford and they have no clue what it is. Then they tell me that they think they might know but it will take a few weeks to get it in. So im just wondering if i should just wait the couple of weeks for it with the chance of my cv axle braking or just use the old cv axle retainer ring?
