Mild Engine work and Nitrous=clutch go boom!
Well, I knew it was coming but now the day is here. I have to severely baby the clutch no or it will slip really bad. I had a Spec stage 1 in it and I really liked it so I am gonna go with Spec again. I think that I will either go with the stage 3+ or the stage 4. I don't know if I am ready to go with a full race clutch just yet but maybe...I really hate pulling the trans and tcase out of my truck that much lol.
Anyone else out there run the stage 3+ or even a race clutch?

Ensure whatever you get still has a sprung hub man. I have used ACT, Exedy, Spec, Clutchmasters and Centerforce over the years and The stout enough PP's on any of them will hold what you are making just fine. If you get a solid hub though, the driveline abuse is pretty serious. I would only reccomend them on a straight race car because of the chatter and breakage as well.

Yeah, I think that I will stick with the Stage 3+ it still has a sprung hub but it is supposed to have better wear characteristics than the regular stage 3.
Plans are down the line to get rid of this engine all together and go diesel but until then the SOHC is gonna have to keep up lol
I really wish that I had another option to go with on the weak trannies in these things. If I didn't have 4wd and really like the launches, I would try a t5 conversion.

They didn't have one listed. I have a stocker that I cut down when I got it last time. I have access to a flywheel cutting machine so I shave some weight off of it from the getgo.
I really wish that they had the aluminum pressure plate option as well but the don't. I want my truck to go the the rpm's as quickly as possible so I know that lighter rotational mass is best especially when you can get it off the ends of the crank as much as possible.

True. I heard back from Spec today on a few questions that I emailed them. They reccomended the exact setup that I ordered. I will just get another flywheel and machine it down like I did to this one that I have now.
He said it would be very hard to launch the truck in 4wd with the ligh flywheel.
