diff cover

hey guys... i just got a Warn 8.8 Diff skid plate cover. It says to take the bottom 5 bolts out so im thinking i might just take the cover all the way off reseal it and put new gear oil in...I was just wondering what weight oil and what seal??? im going with Royal Purple. Thanks

you don't need to pull the cover. unless you want to. i think i run 75-90 in my rear axle? not sure, i just buy w/e.. if you have a LS you need to get the additive too.
edit: what he said.. i forgot, higher end stuff like lucas too dont require the additive.

just take the bolts out, place the diff guard in place and put the new or origional bolts back in.

More people will chime in, but for gear oil just use max gear oil from royal purple I think the owners manual calls for 75w140? The nice thing about Royal Purple is that you dont need an additive for the Limited Slip.

and a high temp RVT silicone to seal it.
