What year truck is it? 2000.5 and newer have live axle, which means the DS SHOULD turn if you turn the front wheels...

No, its fine, its in 2wd. Tell your dad that the 2000.5 and newer 4wd rangers have live axles, no "hubs". IF you have a 2000.5 and newer, and it doesn't turn when you turn the front wheel, THEN you have a problem. If you have a 98-2000.5 and you have it in 2wd, and you spin one of the front wheels, and the driveshaft spins, THEN there might be a problem, but not with your 2001. It is fine.

And if he doesnt believe you, or me, PM me his number and I'll call him and tell him myself haha
