i got a 88 ranger with a 7.5 rear end but i know i can upgrade it with a newer ranger that got a 8.8 and it will be a bolt in upgrade but my ? is can i take the disk brake off a explorer and bolt it up to the 8.8 for the ranger plz help me out with this ID |
You can do whatever you'd like with a welder and some fab skillz.
|
but you think you are do it with out a welder
|
your 7.5 and the 28 spline 8.8 I think should both have the same axle tube size or whatever, so the 8.8 28 spline disc swap should basically be the same for your 7.5 although I'd look at getting an 8.8 if you're going to the trouble anyway.
read here, should be the same for you axle. https://www.ranger-forums.com/engine-drivetrain-122/how-rear-disc-brake-conversion-stock-28-spline-ranger-rear-end-95557/ |
yea i'm going to pull the ranger 8.8 tues from the junk yard

I when to the jk and all i could find is a 7.5 does someone know what year and model i look for for the 8.8
