Drive Shaft Question
Will an explorer front drive shaft fit an 00 ranger? out of like an 00 explorer?

if it is a double cardan shaft it wont fit, like in the 4x4auto tcases
but the explorers that are 2high 4high and 4low will fit |

This actually for my truck, no need to swap flanges. My front shaft is in the shop, and i need to test out my new toy to see how it does.

Yes and No...
http://i43.tinypic.com/3515lcp.jpg Look on right side of screen.... 98+ 4x4 Rangers use a CV/ball style rear joint(top in picture). Same shaft is also used in some 95+ Explorers. Bottom shaft is the Double Cardon found in 97 and older rangers and some explorers. |
shane the lower one should be TTB correct? it is talking Live axle to Live axle its the same distance

TTB ranger, yes. I've seen 'em under A-Arm Expos at yards.
What are you asking about distance??? Can't read what ya wrote. lol. My pic I posted is my SHORTEND up 97 and older shaft to fit with the adaptor in the 'bucket' of the tcase. |
The expo that have the double Car joint on SLA just have a different mounting flange that can be changed
