the 8.8 is a pretty stout axle, espically in the 31 spline form (Explorers and Level II's)......the 31 spline version has been used in F-150's from i believe '96+

dang it I was hoping for a L/S... guess it's something I'll have to fork out cash for later...

However, I'm glad I have the 8:8, everybody is swaping to them nowadays...

if u had a limited slip it would say it on the option's list on the right side of your sticker which Im assuming you have since you bought the truck brand new. Hell if you read the sticker it will tell you what gear ratio you have.

Limited slip is an option, no where standard unless its a level 2.

I have a 2wd 3.0L Edge with the towing package and I got a 8.8" 4.10 L/S. The L/S in the 31 spline is the Torsen, much nicer L/S than the factory piece.

I know I'll need friction modifier, but do I need anything else to install the L/S?

how did u get a torsen from the factory on the edge>? esp with 31 spline axles unless you swapped the rear end out with a level 2's.
