Aftermarket Clutches.... Opinions please

Looking to replace my clutch with something better than stock. What have you guys bought installed loved, hated etc.... I see a few offerings out there Centerforce, Spec, Hayes. Mine is an 06 4.0L

I want to tow a bit of weight and I don't want it to slip if I hammer on it a bit. Any offered review and or opinion would be great.

Pretty much any one of them will be stronger than stock.

I tow often, and have no issue with a stock 105k mile clutch. I would vote stock, I don't know that a stock 4.0 (even with bolts ons/tuner) would ever be able to slip a not beat on OEM clutch.

It's not a race truck, you don't need anything too fancy so don't waste alot on a centerforce. The stock ones work well enought to be in there to begin with...

My truck has a Spec Stage II clutch kit in it. She sure shines when you're shifting fast and dumping clutch(while moving obviously)......she just GRIPS. It provided better grip, but she still allowed you to slip it if needed. I thoroughly enjoyed it the first 4 years.

I installed it in about 2007 and the truck had about 50k on it. It now has 130k and while still grippy, I'm getting tired of the moody grip point. Shifting is fine, it's just getting it going that the truck shutters. This could be the wear factor, but I don't think it is. I've done a couple tranny swaps and an engine swap while the clutch has been in the truck and the disc has always looked like new with plenty of material left.

When I get my spare trans rebuilt, I'll be popping in a stock Luk clutch and pressure plate. I'm gonna miss the super grabby shifts. Not gonna miss the moody as heck grip point.
