I'm currently prepping to begin a rebuild an 93' A4LD 2x4 transmission. I'm having trouble locating a new Motorcraft/Ford brand pump assembly. The reason I'm looking for new is that I've been told that rebuilds are prone to failure, and I'm trying to prevent another rebuild for as long as possible. I'm also having trouble locating a decent trans rebuild/overhaul kit (higher durability/better clutches, bands, etc.) If anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated! Also, I know that the A4LD is identical to the 4R55E and 5R55E (excluding valve bodies). Could I find a front pump for one of these and use it on the A4LD? All help is greatly appreciated!
