I just installed a new shift motor on my 98 ford ranger XLT but the truck will not go into 4 wheel drive. When I turn the key on the 4 wheel high and low indicator lights flash 6 times, I am guessing this is a code but no one seem to know. All vac hoses look good and are connected but still not working. Any help would really be appreciated

 

4wd computer is probably dead.

 

Does it flash 6 times every 2 minutes or just when you start the truck?
If it does it every 2 minutes it has something to do with your speed sensor being faulty.

 

mine did the same thing, the fuse was blown. theres 2 fuses that control the 4x4 system
