Hey guys, I drove my 1994 manual ford ranger to school today. In the parking lot however something weird happened and I was unable to get into any gears. It would not go in, I jammed a little and finally it clicked into 1st gear. I then went into neutral and got out to lock hubs and put in 4wheel drive since i was on some pretty bad ice. When I went back to put it in gear however, put the clutch in shifted into first and I could remove the clutch and have it idle. So basically the truck is not shifting into my gears, what now?

could be the end of the shifter broke off in the trans. Highly unlikely, but possible if you had to force it into first. How often do you drive with your hand resting on the shifter? doing so wears the shift forks. COuld also be the issue.

How does the stick feel when moving in and out of gears? how hard was jamming it in?
