Can I swap a 31 spline fx4 axle into my '96 ranger without making any modifications to the wiring or brake lines? So pretty much is it a straight bolt in swap? With the exception of new u-bolts.

Assuming the gear ratio matches the front of the 96, it should bolt right up.

rearmost ebrake cables may have different sizes 'stops' where it pulls on the bracket that attaches to the pad. I noticed that between my bro's 7.5 and my 8.8's(28 and 31spline). May need later model 8.8 rear cables.
