Trans fluid leaking into my t-case
i got up the other day to warm up the old truck and noticed the tranny was down about a qt or so. i talked to the guy at work and he says only two places it can do. leak out on to the ground (which its not) or into the transfer case. i havent had a chance to check the transfer case but im wondering which seal is the one thats bad. if someone has had this problem and can point me in the right direction as to which seal it is or a part number. that would be great. thank you

well at leat on my '93 its not going to leak into the transfer case, its going to possibly leak into the empty cavity of the adaptor between the trans/t-case, but not into the t-case itself. and the empty cavity of the adaptor has a drain opening at the bottom, so any oil lost through the trans output seal (or the t-case input seal) would drain right out onto the ground.
