expo driveshaft

Would I get anything out of installing a driveshaft (aluminum) from an explorer? I can get one for ten bucks from my salvage yard.

If it's a good investment, what can I pull one from, or does it matter?

I know one out of an AWD v8 will be the right length, not sure about the v6 expos. Wouldn't hurt to measure the flange on the tcase side of your driveshaft as well to compare. Ford used a few different diameter flanges.

plenty of expos to choose from in that yard. Shouldn't have any problem finding one like that.

There ya go. If I remember correctly, all you need to pull the driveshaft is a 12mm 12pt wrench/socket.

Do you have the 2 piece driveshaft now or the 1 piece steel?

Fairly certain I have the single piece steel shaft. And yeah, from what I've seen of 'em when I've crawled under, they're the 12 point bolts. Fairly sure I've got a socket that would fit 'em good.
