First real 'failures'!

Hey all -
Have been quiet and lurking the last year or so, but in the last two weeks, had my first few issues pop up.

First, and unrelated to the drivetrain, the tailgate handle broke on one side, so it's stuck until I can get in there and replace it. D'oh.

Second, noticed that my pinion (I believe) seal's leaking, up by the driveshaft entry. After about 24 hours sitting on my inclune driveway, left a spot about.. oh, two quarters large.

I've done searches, and see that replacing it isn't *difficult* - I could probably do it, but my schedule for the next two weeks is tied p as boss is out of office.

So, lemme ask this - If I pay to have it done, what would be a 'good' price to expect? Would driving it about 15 miles a day hurt for a few days? (Don't think so, but I figure I'd ask in case..)

Truck has 78k, and I've had it for 2 years, 6 months, so not bad!
