Trans Cooler Mod

I noticed that where the factory trans cooler is mounted, only 1/2 of it is exposed to free air flow, (red box)

My solution was to relocate it behind the lower valance opening leaning back at the top, this pretty much exposes the entire cooler.

It seems to work quite well so far.

I didn't remove the valance, I just removed the bolts that held it on and lowered it into position and fastened it with zip-ties.

if you mounted it there would you have to extend the lines..

which is easier..

longer lines
moving it

longer lines are easy
regular oil/gas proof hose
just little radiator clamps holding it to the cooler and metal tubing off the tranny
I would worry about zip ties failing from heat and vibration
becare of sharp edges and making the ties too tight
eventually they will wear through

The length of the lines was just fine, I just removed the top bracket. I am going to fab-up some light gauge metal brackets to hold it in place. This was just kind of a trial run.
