fluids help

fluids help

ok so the truck has 137,XXX on it and i want to change all the fluids in it..what all do i need to change diff, transfer, what about the antifreze???? anything else that i might want to change

Flush the brake and power steering systems. Also tranny. Anitfreeze yes. Everything else yes.

how hard is it to flush the brakes and the power steering?? Would the owners maual have all the information that i need for the types of fluids...also would you sugest geting a diffrent type of fluid??

The manual will show fluid type and capacity. I personnally like to spend the extra money on quality fluids but you don't have to.

I think all you do to flush the power steering is pull off a line from the rack but I'm not sure. All you do for the brakes is bleed each side until you see clear fluid.

ok so looking threw the haynes manual and it says for the power steering fluid to use automatic transmission fluid...is that right??? thought they made actual power steering fluid

ATF and power steering are the same thing.

I usually remove old fluid from the Power Steering reservoir, and add new. Then turn wheel lock to lock, and continue removing and adding until it's all new.
After 5 cycles it's all nice and red.
