Front ABS 2008

2008 4x4

One of my front brakes is going into ABS mode whenever I make a left turn and apply brakes. Going straight or to the right, eveything is normal. I think it's the right side but can't tell for sure by feel in the wheel. If I unplug the cable on each side and measure resistance will that tell me?

the computer is NOT hearing from the driver side wheel bearing

the computer thinks that the wheel is slipping and firing the brakes on that wheel

the reluctor ring may have broken off or it is slipping

Appreciate the reply. What makes you think it's the left side? Just curious...

making a left turn , the left wheel rotates slower than the right wheel

the computer thinks that the left wheel has lost traction and fires the abs to regain traction

but just to be sure , the reluctor rrings reside on the cv shaft nearest the wheel bearing

watch this video

advance to 3:02 and look at the reluctor ring

a common problem with the rangers and explorers since both vehicles use the same cv shafts up front

Thanks! I'm ok with minor repairs like brakes and stuff but without air tools I think I'll farm this job out. I'll post what we find.
