Hey guys,
I had a quick question in regards to a hose coming off the front differential. I was installing a Superlift suspension on my truck and when I dropped the front differential to install the brackets I was struggling a little bit doing it by myself. When I got everything tightened back up, I noticed there was a black rubber hose that was free at the end not attached to the front differential. I was wondering if anyone could identify it for me and tell me where it attached to?
I took pictures of the attachment to the front differential and then of the free end, sorry for the poor quality. Thanks in advance for any help!! -tim

 

Don't quote me but it looks to just be an air line, to balance the pressure inside as temp changes.

 

Do yo have any idea where it would attach or be clipped? It has a clip on the free end but I didn't see it fall so I'm trying to figure out where it is supposed to run. Thanks for the response too!

 

It's a breather tube, similar to the one for the rear diff

 

Haha that's the name! I for the life of me couldn't think of the name earlier. But I'm not sure where it would be clipped to. If in doubt, just run it somewhere out of the way.

My FX4 has a similar vent hose and it comes up right in front of the brake master cylinder and the top of it is just a little higher than the master cylinder. Mine does not have that clip on it. It is held in place with a tie wrap.
