Front diff rebuild or replace?

How much should I plan to spend to spend to rebuild my front diff? Can I do something like this with the right tools? Have others rebuilt their front diff? Or should I just try to locate a used one? This is on a 01 Ranger. More info is listed in this thread.

Hey after saturday I will have a spare front diff if you were interested. Of course shipping would suck and it has 3.73 gears in it which I doubt you have since so many of the newer rangers came with 4.10's. Let me know I haven't had any express interest in buying it from me yet.

for me it would be better to rebuild it, of course this is what i do for a living.
plus you know you have new parts.

Are any special tools are needed for a rebuild? I have rebuilt my old Eagle Talon tranny before if that gives you any idea of skill level.

you'll need a shop/floor press to remove and install the bearings, and a bearing splitter.

My best friend has a floor press and the supporting tools to go with it. Anything else?
