Front drive shaft problem.....

so i got a used front driveshaft, when i bolted it up and turned the drive shaft it it was sloppy in the rear yoke. so i pulled it to check it out. and when i pulled off the back cup piece there were 4 ball bearings in side that had fallen out of the cadge. is there a certian way to put it back together?

I hate to tell you this man, but that driveshaft is shot. If I remember correctly, that rear tulip yoke (where your bearings fell out) is supposed to have the bearing incased in a race. Kind of like a wheel bearing. Was there a rubber boot still on that end that went over that connects to your transfercase? I don't think you can get them back in....Sounds like the bearing retainer is shot....ie shot driveshaft. Hope this helps ya out !

well my stock drive shaft had the same problem, so i pulled it apart, put the bearings back in the cadge and rotated it over the yoke unlitll it dropted in by it self, didnt take any force just dropted in. I thought it was good then i tried to move the thing and it was locked up. wouldnt flex like it was suposed to. then i couldnt get it apart so i bought this used one, it has low miles so i thought it would be alright. not sure what to do....
