Upgrading carrier for 4.88 gears?
I'm finally upgrading to 4.88 gears. I currently have 4.10's.
I've read around that the stock carrier is on the smaller side and if I install 4.88 gears I'll have to ground too much off the cross pin, so it's recommended to upgrade the carrier too a larger size.
What carrier do I upgrade too? I've searched the forums and internet and haven't found much.
I don't offroad anymore, can I run the stock carrier and be fine for on-road use?

Just grind some of the tooth. That is what most do. You only do it on a few teeth to get enough room to slide the center pin in. Pretty sure that is the problem regardless of carrier. That traction-lok is garbage offroad. Get an aussie (lunchbox locker) if you're on the cheap side, otherwise detroit or selectable.

Just grind enough of the teeth to fit the cross pin in there. Notched cross pins suck.
Trac Lok sucks. If you want a limited slip get a Detroit True-Trac (assuming it is compatible with 4.88s), or a lock rite for a locker since Aussie doesn't make one for the 28 spline.
31 spline 8.8" with stock open carrier, 4.88 gears, aussie, and a grind on the ring gear.
