gear sizes and gas mileage
i recently got bigger rims and tires and i'm going to have to regear. well, i have 3.73s in there now and i'd like to get 4.56s just to have that extra power. will this slaughter my gas mileage? would i just be better with 4.10s?
|
i have a 3.0 with 3.73's and 30" tires and no engine mods... and lumadar has a 3.0 edge with 4.10's and 31" tires and a programmer, and he would consistently get 1-2mpg better than me.
i dunno why. |
yes it would and highway would be great fun winding that motor up

i have to wind up my motor as it is now, im assuming that maybe i can get my 5th gear back if i move up to 4.10s or maybe even 4.56s. Third gear gets a long long run up the rpms, and 4th, well im still in fourth around 90-95mph.
i want the new gears for the low end, its a dog off the line, and off-road. |
