Slight knocking.

Slight knocking.

Ok, I gots a problem. There is a slight knocking sound when I brake, It sounds like its from the tranny not the breaks. but I have no idea where to start looking. Anyone else hear this before?

check ur trans mount and universals and while ur down there is there excessive play in the drive shaft?

yea, it was the u-joint

but the guy who did it for me said I would need a new clutch in a few months.... at 78000 miles is that about right??

Also is it really about 600 bills to have a mechanic do it?

At that mileage it is possible to need a new clutch. That sounds about right for the price if it is just labor ( $75 hr x 8hr) I don't know if it takes that long. If that is parts and labor, that is a good price also.
