Gears are cheap. 8.8 gears are like $220. The kicker is the labor...cuz the price varies sooo damn much from place to place, based on my research and calling when I was ready to do my swap.

I think around town, 4.88 and 33's would be a blast. On the highway, You'll be turning about 3500rpms at 75 in overdrive. I'd say 4.56 is an econo gear for 35's...and a perfect gear for 33's. Wasn't a bad choice IMO.
4.88's and 33's didn't have the engine that high at 75, with an auto anyway. I forget what it was but it wasn't quite up there, still high...
You're right though, it was awesome in town and offroad. On the highways in Oregon it was fine, but where the speed limits here are 70 on the freeway it sucked. 4.56 and 33's are perfect I think, and would still be suitable with 35s in most cases.

Remember, I'm always thinking manual...cuz well, I got a manual. lol. I turn 3000rpms at approx 77-80 with the .88's and 5's in 5th gear(0.79:1). I could be wrong but I dont remember. lol. I find it to be just perfect for the 70mph max in Wa(aka 75-80) and definately fine in Oregon(even better on mileage in Oregon I find at about 65)
