Hard shift 2nd 3rd gear, but down shift "clunk" fixed

Had Tranny rebuilt only after 455K,, guess I just got lucky !! 4R44E,, after rebuild I noticed hard shiting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. By hard shift I mean it shifts when it should but you get that "kick in the pants" feeling when it shifts. Searched the forum for maybe the intermediate band mal-adjusted would cause just those gears to shift hard?? EPC ?? Also had a hard downshift clunk from 2nd to 1st when coming to a stop, pulling the battery for 20mins made that go away, at least for to weeks so far. Have the tools and info for for verifying band adjustment but won't touch it to maintain warranty unless someone can verify that band is common to just 2nd and 3rd gear engagement.

Mine is doing exactly the same thing after a rebuild. Drives me nuts. Rebuilder swapped valve body with rebuilt one from Sonnex. I'm not sure if backing off the EPC solenoid eighth of a turn is worth trying? I hate the 2 to 1 clunk...im not sure the hard parts are going to last with this going on.

I cant take this truck back to the rebuilder as it will be the 4th time and he has had it for over 2 months already.
