I have a 99 rangerxlt automatic 3.0 with the side step on the sides. my front passenger CV came out of the wheel barring and took it to the shop, because currently dont have a place to work on it myself. They said the retaining ring is no longer manufactured and it was an item for said wasn't supposed to ever need replacement. I cant find it anywhere or have the visual pop up to confirm the right ring for the axel retainer but it looks like a thin compressed spring/ring part number is F57Z3Z498AA for a 99-04. It is not the orange looking one that pops up in a search. has anyone else had this issue or any advice?

 

Did you end up finding a replacement clip? I'm in the same situation right now.
