went to get an alignment

so went to go get an alignment and so i dropped it off at the local firestone well about an hour or so later the guy calls me and tells me that he cant do the alignment because i need to replace the grease seal on the rotor because if he were to do it without it being replaced then the first bump i hit it would throw the alignment off,now it might just be me but i really dont see the grease seal posing any issue with alingment and i looked at the grease seal on the back of the rotor and it looks fine and the tech said that there should be oil everywhere down there cause that seal is bad but what do you know there is a spec of oil anywhere i didnt put it so im thinking the guy is a retard and i should take it to ntb tomorrow...thanks in advance to all that give me some input

Sounds like he was just lazy.

Next he'll tell you that you can't fill the truck up with gas because your wiper fluid is green and not blue.

When you asked what one had to do with the other, what did he say? Too many people just accept an answer, then come here for explanations. Sometimes mechanics can tell who they can blow smoke to.

Tell him you bought a fresh set of exhaust manifold heatflap springs, which you were told would keep all seals on your vehicle working better than before.

I bought the lifetime firestone alignment thing. I took it in several alignments ago and they said that they couldn't do it since I needed new ball joints. I know they aren't in the best of shape, but they are tight and well greased. I told them to give it their best shot and we'll go from there. I picked it up and there was no mention of ball joint work recommended. Several alignments later, still no suggestions for new ball joints.
