Clutch problem (I think)

Hey guys I have an 88 ranger with a mistubishi tranny 5 speed on a 2.9 engine with a the first generation hydroulic clutch and im have a problem getting it start. it was preveously converted from the a4ld tranny by whoever had it before, however they only got the automatic out an threw all the other parts needed for the conversion in the back of the truck. iv managed to get it all together with some help from a 91 explorer doner with the clutch and fly-wheel, anyway it wont start like wont even turn over as if it doesnt have a starter what do you guys think? the clutch master cylinder does not have a wireing harnes and they cut a cable that goes from the tranny (the previous auto-tranny) to the gas pedal? also there is some kind of switch on the upper right side on the tranny (when you look down from inside the cab to the right of the stick but not the hose fitting) is broken

Are you getting power on the low current side of your starter solenoid?
