how to drop drive shaft
 

Hello, first post on the threads. bought a ranger about a year ago, lots of issues but nothing major, but recently i blew my carrier bearing bad. little chunks of metal in grease stuck all over bottom of car, drive shaft spinning almost directly on frame. i looked up a couple replacement videos online and seems to be pretty chill, I've popped off the driveshaft coupling(?) but i cannot get the driveshaft to separate so i can continue with the replacement. Any recs? 1997 ford ranger xl manual

sometimes it takes some persuasion with a pry bar or a hammer to get it to pop loose, especially if it has never been off

2 piece driveshaft?

Have you removed it from the differential?
