How to install new exhaust?
well i have a 2001 reg cab reg bed 5 speed 3.0 ranger 2wd.
Factory exhaust that is threatening to break at the joint under the cab due to rust. Ive spent countless hours watching videos and have settled on spintech 6000 or 9000 - havent decided yet.
We have no inspections or emmisions testing. Id like to have the nicest tone it can. which means gettign rid of several of the cats and resonators.
The main cat is also the Y pipe (wtf ford) so it looked pretty solid yet so i may just leave it. Id like to remove that resonator after the last O2 sensor but noticed the short pipe going to it is flat on one side so how do people do this? Its also flat all the way to the cat... Also what size replacement pipe should i attach to the end of the cat to the muffler? What size in/out should i get for the muffler? Should i remake the tailpipe to a larger diameter? Ive had turndowns before and they are too loud so id like a factoryish exit (or dual straight out the back or angled side pipes)
I might leave the resonator but cut off the flange and run the fat diameter back to the muffler to make it easy for the time being

Need some help here - ive done plenty of exhaust work and learned to weld all the joints so it doesnt leak but usually because it rusted off/out...
