Hurst Shifter-Backorder

Does anyone else have a hurst/ billet shifter for our rangers on backorder.
I ordered it like 2 weeks ago and summit still claims they haven't even got the part in yet.
They're telling me that they wont get it in till June 30. But then ill check and the date just keeps going back and back.
So frustrating, why cant they get that part/ shifter right now.
Im so bumbed, this is ridiculous.

Hurst will only make a certain number of shifters every quarter. If they sell out of them, too bad, you have to wait till the next production run. This is going to become more and more common, because there is less money running around. Companies like Summit are not buying as much product, because there is not as much credit for them to buy it. And because the companies are not buying as much at one time, Hurst will start to cut back production. Hence why back ordered parts are becoming more and more common.

Thanks for the info. Im afraid this is the case, but i can still see a glimmer of hope that this was just a goofup and they're getting some more shifters in soon.
I actually just got off the phone with a summit guy and hes gonna give me a call tomorrow and let me know what the deal is?
So say my shifter wont come till next quarters production. If i ordered it on 6/5/09, and still havent got it, how long till i might see it?
Thanks again for any input...im just so pumped to get this thing, but sometimes things just arent meant to go your way.

When you place an order with Summit, usually they will give you a backorder date. The date sometimes gets put back too.
